I have been a professional giclee printmaker since 1992. Starting with the Iris line of printers, I have printed for many renown artists and photographers.
As a disclaimer I do not pretend to be the sole authority on the subject. On the other hand not many companies and individuals can claim to have been in the field for more than a decade. My views come from day to day operations. I own a giclee printing company that serves clients all over the US. This site is not to promote our services as we can only handle half of the work we are asked to do.
Too often I hear customers coming from bad experiences with other printers: washed out, delicate prints that left the artist with many questions about the viability of giclee as a high quality medium. Also, many people out there without the right expertise, poor equipment etc. This site is meant to educate anyone interested in the process to make informed decisions.
What I write on the site is subjective. Many experts may disagree with some of my opinions. It is up to you to decide whom to believe. Often I will cite manufacturers' specifications. Other times it is just my opinion, the opinion of a printmaker who works in this field day in and out, not a teacher or tester who is mostly detached from the production aspect of giclee printing.
There is no e-mail address on this site. Again, take the tour and read it like a book. And, as a book, it is meant to provide information, not to talk to the author. I am very busy and plenty of information, including external resources, is provided.
